John Earle Moore Sr., 73, Milton R.D. 2, died Friday at the United Methodist Nursing Home, Lewisburg.
He was born February 3, 1894, son of the late Charles and Nellie Branyam Moore.
He was a member of Paradise United Church of Christ, and a member of the Mens Bible Class for over 50 years. He was a member of past master of Turbot Grange. He was also a member of American Legion Post 71, Milton and World War One Barracks, 2869. He attended the Milton schools and was graduated from the Williamson Trade School, Philadelphia. He was a veteran of World War I, in which he served as a mess sergeant with Company M, 314th Infantry regiment.
He retired in 1960 from the past as manager of Clinger Lumber Co., where he was employed for over 3 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Wagner Moore; three sons: Harry C. Moore, Milton; John E. Moore Jr., Bloomsburg; and Homer C. Moore, Lancaster; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the John H. Shaw Funeral Home, Milton, with Rev. James P. Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Paradise church Cemetery, Milton R.D. Military services will be conducted by the United Veterans Organizations, Milton.
