Lewis Genealogy To Lester Eugine Lewis 1922-1982

Although not my genealogy, this is one of my major projects this winter.  My stepfather is Sam Lewis, son of Lester Lewis, and I would like to put his genealogy together, with the family photos, in an album for him & for my step brothers, for Christmas this year.

My mom brought me the obit for Charles H. Aikey (1949-2013) and asked how he was related. She worked with him at Chef's and remembered that he was related to us.  This post is to answer her question. (Note, Charles Aikey married Sandra I. Oberdorf - those Aikey's and Oberdorfs married each other A LOT!)  The answer is : Lewis, William, Harry, Hugh, Mervin, Charles.  We are related to Lewis Aikey through his sons Lewis & Robert (yes, we are related to both of them..  both are brothers to William), so the connection is distant.

History of Northumberland County, PA by Floyd; publish 1911; pp. 404-405CharlesTruckenmiller, son of Solomon, was born Sept. 20, 1813, and lived in Delaware township, where he followed farming.  He had an eighty-acre property near McEwensville.  His wife, Susanna (Dieffenbacher), born Sept. 20, 1820, died May 2, 1892. Mr. Truckenmiller died Feb. 13, 1893.  They had children  as follows: Augustus, of Catawissa, Pa., a musician; George, who lives in Dakota; Henry, of Dakota; Elizabeth, married and living in Scranton, Pa.; and Ella, married and living in Dakota.
