Genealogy has become a hobby for me over the last 10 years. For me, it's like a puzzle, I love fitting the pieces together. But over the years, I've researched a lot that does not pertain to our family lines. Some for extended family, some for close friends, and some because I was trying to rule out lines to figure out where our line went exactly. I do not want these notes on my Heather's Genealogy Notes blog - because they are not our lines. But I do like to share all of my research, in case it benefits others. 1854 - Charles is Born
March 3 1854 in Pennsylvania
His parents were born in Germany.
The death certificate for Charles brother William gives his mothers maiden name as Koons. On his sister Catherine's it is spelled Kuntz - and their fathers name is given as Bernard instead of Barnhardt. 

 I had a really hard time locating Charles death certificate. When I finally found it, I shared this on facebook - 
 Death Certificate Search Tip - I've had the hardest time locating some death certificates. I finally found Charles Zieglers today by using just his first name, his year of death, and the location he died in. So Charles, 1930, Lycoming PA. That was it. I had to scroll through 2 or 3 pages of results, but it was still pretty quick. He was listed as Charles Zuger, and his father's name was given as John instead of Barnhardt (Johannes Barnhardt, most likely).- but it is obviously him. No birth date was given, but his age at death was given, so it was easy to use a tombstone calculator to calculate his birthdate. March 3 1845.

 In 1920 there is a "Mike Zeigler", age 30.  I can find NO other record for him anywhere, and he does not appear in the previous census.  The date is close enough that I am guessing this is Herman Brady Zeigler.  He was single, never married, and does not appear anywhere else in 1920.

 I don't know where Anna was in 1940, off hand, but she never married either.  

 John Dayton Ziegler was a WWI vet.   Army Cook in 314th 79th Infantry Division

 Henry Howard Ziegler died single according to his death certificate.  He fell off the bridge into Lycoming Creek and drowned. (bringing us to 6 children who did not marry)

 And the obit for James Lee Zeigler tells us he died single as well - 
James Lee Zeigler, aged 41 years, of Roaring Branch RD., died Sunday, Nov. 25, at his home after several months illness. He was a member of the Langdon Lodge No. 961. I.O.O.F., at Ralston. Survivors are five brothers, Fred and Brady, of Roaring Branch R.D., Albert and John, of Ralston, and Walter, of Proctor and four sisters, Mrs. Maude Henny, of Trout Run; Anna, of Ralston; Mrs. Nell Richter, of Roaring Branch, and Stella, of Roaring Branch R.D. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28.
