Ida does not appear to have ever had it easy. At age 8 she is found in the home of a family, listed as a housekeeper. Two children were born to Ida after her 35th birthday. One was stillborn in 1909, when she was 37, and less than two years later, in 1911 their son Robert, born premature, survived just 5 hours. Their daughter Violet, while still single and just 17 years old, had died 3 months before, in March of 1911 - from complications with her own pregnancy (eclampsia). In 1912 we find an article in the williamsport paper saying that she is recovering, after "being seriously ill for a long time". She died just 5 years later, in 1917, her youngest living son, Clyde, would have been 12 years old when she died.
Of the 9 children I can find record of, only 3 lived past 50 years old - with Clyde just barely passing 50 before dying of a heart attack at age 52. Two, Robert & a still born male, did not survive even one day. Violet died while pregnant, of eclampsia at 17 years old. Alice Died of Pneumonia at age 37. Ruby died at age 41. (although she died in 1936, which is verified by John's death certificate stating he was a widow in 1943 when he died, I cannot find her death certificate. She appears to have been widowed with 3 young children when she married John Marsh, who was 27 years older than her at the time of their marriage. When she died in 1936, she would have had 6 children ages 16 and under still at home - ages 16, 15, 13, 10, 8, 6. John died just 7 years later in 1943.) Edward died of a skull fracture at age 42. (I have yet to find what caused the skull fracture)
Elsie lived to age 74, and Charles to age 58.

In all records, he appears to go by his middle name, Crawford.
In 1920 we find that he owned his farm free and clear, no mortgage.
In 1930, Charles & his wife Anna are living with him. We know Crawford dies after the census in 1930, I suspect that Charles takes over the farm. We know that Charles farm is sold in an estate sale the year he dies, in 1955.

At first I thought perhaps this was the son of Violet, who also died in 1911? But according to the death certificate, Robert is the son of Crawford & Ida, who died at 5 hours old, in June of 1911. Since Violet died in March, this cannot be her child. Ida would have been 37 years old in 1911. The death certificate tells us that this was a premature birth, but it's hard to figure out what the cause of death is, the handwriting is atrocious. " ---------- failed to close."
